What Is Water Treatment & Legionella Risk Assessment?
Every building has a water supply and distribution system that needs to be maintained for the overall functionality of the organisation’s premises. If a water system is neglected, then there is a risk of Legionnaires’ disease (also legionellosis or Legion fever) is a form of atypical pneumonia largely caused by Legionella pneumonia.
Every commercial building should have a Legionella Risk Assessment in line with ACOPS L8. This includes inspection of the water services (pipe work, water outlets and storage tanks), the assessor also looks for dead legs and underused outlets which are a harbour for bacteria. The assessment also includes photographic evidence and advice on any actions required to maintain the water systems to ACOP L8 requirements.
The water systems may need cleaning and chlorination or the storage tanks may require upgrading to current standards, all of these processes can be undertaken and certificated by Precise Managed Services trained Engineers
